poster speed dating

This series of posters was created in a workshop called Poster Speed Dating. It worked a bit like the game telephone in which one person whispers a phrase into the next person's ear until all the people playing have heard a version of the original phrase. By the time the phrase reaches the last person, it usually has been misheard so many times it barely resembles the original phrase.

For this workshop, instead of whispering in each other's ears, we instead all started with the same brief and had to interpret it visually. Next we used a template for the brief to interpret someone else's poster using words. This created a new brief which we then passed on to someone else. For each round we received a brief, which we then interpreted visually, and then after the round we interpreted someone else's poster in words, which became a new brief for the next round of posters.

A photo of each brief is included beneath the poster. For each poster, we were given anywhere from 30 minutes to 2 hours to create it, with the average being 45 minutes.
